yes,,,the first you must determinate limit noise by hear or headphone correspond the start or process of detonation and set approximate level at knock software around 60%. The next, you must find only start pinging at engine and tune correct level at % at software. As a usually is 55-60%. You can use gain for correct level of signal from knock processor. So that, level below 55-70% will be safety, then above 60% you can make correction ign, fuel, boost, you can stop engine and critical level more 80-90%...Any variants. It's very good working at sm4. After then you will not need headphone and listen hear,,,but, you must always be careful and more attentive for tune engine on pike and detonation process.
I'll be recommend use knock correction for control and safety correction after full tune engine.
Also, you can use knock light at board for visual level of knocking at process.

only practically experience feeling really! You must listen engine and you must exactly check start of pinging, start slightly now that knocking process at start...it's easy, really. After, you will need not any listen this,,,level of % at analog input will show its.
